Over a cuppa this morning, we found ourselves reflecting on how far we’ve come and all the wonderful people we’ve met along the way. One couple in particular came to mind from our tearoom days – Angela and her husband. They stopped by every single week without fail, always smiling, always warm. They remembered every detail from past chats with our whole team, asking how we were and genuinely wanting to know what was going on in our lives. Life threw plenty of setbacks their way, but it never touched their kindness or the joy they brought with them.

A couple of months ago, we were heartbroken to learn that Angela had passed away earlier this year. Knowing her was an honour. The photo attached is of a poinsettia she and her husband gifted us one Christmas – we tend to it a little more carefully these days. We’ve named her Angela, and we’ll do everything we can to keep her thriving in Angela’s memory.

We just wanted to say: we’re not corporate, and you’re not a number to us. Every interaction matters. We know customers sometimes drift away, and we get it – life happens.

But we still remember your favourites. And we still light up when you walk through the door – whether that’s every weekend, after six months away, or because you’ve found your way back to us since the tearoom closed.

Much love and happiness to you all. You really do touch our lives x
